Hello from Pennsylvania

Hi! My name is Clyde, and I am currently interested in building a Snowtrooper kit. I am familiar with costume clubs, I am the C/O of the 13th Civil Defense of the Finest costume club. I am hoping to have the kit built by Celebration VII in Ca. I see I can get most done but my size is what might hurt me getting some gear, like the boots, I wear a size 15. So any help from any members would be great. I also am currently looking into building a Mando armor so I'm really hitting Star Wars big time now. Thanks for letting me in and glad to be aboard.

Welcome Clyde.

I also reside in Pennsylvania, and I am a member of Garrison Carida. What part of PA are you from? Have you ordered or looked into any Snowtrooper kits yet?

As far as the mukluks, they usually run 2 - 3 sizes larger than a standard shoe size. For example, if you wear a size 11 standard shoe, you may want to look into a size 8 mukluk. So if you wear a size 15 standard shoe, you may look into a size 12 mukluk.

I live in Emmaus Pa outside of Philly. And thanks for letting me know about the boots. Good to know. I have a friend who is in the NJ 501st who makes them. I am looking into him helping me out. As for the rest, I will be starting very soon.

Emmaus, PA???

I grew up and live just outside of Allentown, PA. I currently reside in Kutztown, PA, and there are a lot of great Garrison Carida troopers in the Lehigh Valley area. Perhaps we can get together and help you with your build.

Oh cool! I have a friend who runs the local chapter of the Mandalorian Mercs, so I have Star Wars friends near me, and like stated before I run the local chapter for GIJoe cosplayers for the Finest (formally Cobra's Finest) so I know it takes time and money for putting together a kit. Yes, I'd love to hang out with you guys with a show down the road. I do own an E-11 that needs to be converted and also hand shields that I need to get white gloves for. If you can give me links to the local chapters for the LV perhaps on FB I'd love to find them!

Welcome Clyde! Don't worry, you'll be fine. I'm 6'7" and have size 16-17 feet. The mukluks you get are already larger then normal, so you don't have to worry. I have a size 13 mukluks and I wear them with the wool liner comfortably. Put some Dr. Shoals in them and you're set.

Thanks for the heads up on the boots. Where did you get yours? I have a feeling I should get that first. I do have an E-11 I have to mod and hand guards.

I actually picked my mukluks off a guy on craigslist from Alaska. It doesn't hurt to check to see if anyone on there happens to sell them. Got them for $30. Best part, they were already weathered!
