Hello to all of the 501st Blizzard Force detachment. My name is Michael and I live in Shepparton in the Goulburn Valley, Victoria; Australia and I am a hopeful future representative of the 501st Legion. I'm thrilled to be taking part in Blizzard Force and am thankful for the resources found herein. I am also an attendee to the FISD white-armour forum. Today I received in the post my first costumes for my imperial journey a Rubies DLX Deathtrooper (for some Zombie Halloween fun!) and a Rubies TK Stormtrooper helmet. I hope to suit up with the esteemed members of the 501st in the future, and I hope to contribute to costuming success particularily trooping by also costuming support (soft) persons.
I have a query about whether an unranked snowtrooper can wear a snow-trooper commander (hard) helmet?
I would like to give a shout out to any Cylon Centurions out there, I hope you all are finding ways to contribute to costuming and I would love to see you guys trooping alongside 501st Legionaire's.

Welcome Michael! Good to see more prospective Blizzard Force members from Austrailia! Your garrison made a huge showing at C6 last year and I had a hard time keeping up! :p
As for your question, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "unranked snowtroopers"?

Hi TubaChris, What I meant when I said unranked; I should have said without rank medals or designation of rank. I guess i'll have to do a bit of research on the costume reference library on the particulars. I was of the understanding that there is a Standard issue Snowtrooper and a Snowtrooper Commander who has his/her rank bars on his/her heart. The idea of having both ESB Snowtrooper (Hard/Soft) helmets is appealing, but I was concerned initially about incongruencies.

Ah ok! Well the conflict with this is that you'd be mixing costume parts and therefore, not considered movie cannon. I had this question actually asked earlier if a member can wear their regular snowy helmet instead of their commander helmet. While I can say that it cannot ever be approved as such ( I personally wouldn't do it as a serious alternate helmet to wear for troops), we cannot control what a trooper does at a local level. I can say however, those who do know the differences and see you at or in photos at an event will more then likely hassle you about this. From a detachment stand point, no, this is not allowed, but if you do, just know that others may not be as welcoming to the idea.
